Present in Guatemala since 1994 to lead various cooperation projects, Dimitri Lecarte was one of the linchpins of the cooperative. In 2006, he returned to Belgium with his Guatemalan wife and two children to set up a commercial company for producers with the aim of importing and marketing their coffee without intermediaries.
After several years spent crisscrossing the roads, from meetings to meetings, from exchanges to deliveries, this beautiful solidarity project with farmers in Guatemala reached a turning point in its history in 2014 by evolving towards a participatory model: the CAFE CHORTI cooperative was formed.
